Worried about being awkward in front of the camera on your big day?

Don't worry, I got you...

I think that 90% of couples I work with are worried about having their photo taken (if it helps, I am HATE having my photo taken too) but it doesn't have to be that way. Here are some tips and tricks which will ensure you love the process AND get some epic shots.

1. Forget About The Camera

Okay, so maybe you're thinking that's waaay easier said than done - I get it. But usually we look awkward when we're overthinking it, so if you can just focus on one another or think about something else you'll immediately look and feel more relaxed!

2. be you

So often I hear, "what should I be doing?" and honestly just being yourselves, having a laugh, chatting and kissing is the best way forward. Doing this means we'll capture authentic and real moments. Having your couple shots will probably be the only part of your wedding day that you're actually spending some quality time together so enjoy it!

A big tip for avoiding awkwardness is to have a stroll, dance, hug and so on.. Doing so means you'll be distracted from the camera and it gives me loads of different angles to work with!

4. pre wedding couple shoot

Couple shoots are an optional extra but they're an amazing way of us getting to know one another and it gives you an opportunity to get used to being in front of the camera without the pressure of your wedding day.

5. trust me

I'll be there to gently direct you along the way and I promise we'll have a laugh too. Everything I suggest or ask is because I want to get the best photos possible for you!

6. remember, you are beautiful

Everybody has insecurities but no one is more critical of you than yourself. You'll be dressed up to the nines and having the best day of your life with the love of your life - so love yourself, channel some Beyoncé energy and have a blast.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
